Overview
This informative programme provides participants with an understanding of current health and safety legislation covering Display Screen Equipment Assessments for individuals who need to apply the assessments within the working environment. There will be an example assessment form delivered during the session and participants will have to carry out an assessment at a workstation.

• Review health and safety within the office environment in general.
• Understand the risks involved with the misuse of DSE.
• Know how to implement risk prevention techniques.
• Carry out a full DSE Assessment with relevant follow up.

UK legislation - Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Regulations. 
Display Screen Equipment 1992 (EU).

Employer and employees' legal responsibilities
The employer's duty of care for all employees using DSE.
Provide the right equipment.
The employee’s duty of care.
Create a safety conscious environment.

Managing and monitoring the assessment process
Develop an assessment form.
Put a system into place to ensure all employees are assessed.
Create a follow up procedure.

Carrying out a DSE assessment
How to complete an assessment with the individual.
Where and when an assessment should be complete.
Advise on risk and implement no risk.
Keep records and update files.

Duration:  1 day  (can be broken down to 2 x ½ day delivery)
