Temping in Jersey

At 45 square miles, Jersey is the largest and most southerly of the Channel Islands, which lie 90 miles from the south coast of the United Kingdom but just a few miles from the west coast of France!  Due to the action of the Gulf Stream Jersey enjoys a much warmer and drier climate than that of the UK.

The island is nine miles in length and five miles in depth and the capital of Jersey is St Helier where the majority of businesses are based.

Jersey offers locals, visitors and tourists a choice of over 100 top quality-eating establishments.

Apart from fine dining restaurants, Jersey has much to offer career wise. For fortunate individuals who meet local employment requirements there are many major blue chip companies and smaller independent professional businesses that offer highly competitive remuneration packages with generous tax concessions.

Jersey is self-governed despite being considered British.

You may enjoy VAT free shopping, British currency, an excellent sunny climate and seven of “the cleanest beaches in Europe”. In addition you may enjoy pure drinking water, drive your car on the left and have no fear of catching a tropical disease!

British citizens do not require passports or entry visas.  Other EU citizens require their ID Cards.  Citizens from non-EU countries need a passport and should check before travelling to the island whether a visa is required.  Four year working visas are available to people with Australian and New Zealand ancestry.

Jersey is neither part of the EU, the UK or a colony but it is part of the British Isles.

Income Tax is 20%, a rate that has not changed for 50 years.
