Time Management - Is it manageable?

Overview
This course is for those who want to take more control of their workloads by organising tasks, people and themselves. Practical advice is discussed allowing participants to encourage others to embrace time management methods in order for the process to be more effective within the work place.

Objectives 
• Recognise the value of effective time management to yourself, your team and your organisation.
• Identify and overcome the primary causes of poor time management for yourself and your team.
• Prioritise your tasks and cope more effectively with day-to-day demands and pressures.
• Learn to plan ahead and use your time more effectively to increase personal and team productivity.
• Release more time to manage and delegate tasks effectively.
• Become more assertive and disciplined, achieving greater control through improved personal organisation.

Content
Managing your work load

Manage yourself and the resources at your disposal.
What are you and your team trying to achieve.
Define your objectives and key result areas.
Establish responsibilities and priorities.

Practical time management 
Effective use of diaries, time planners. 
Plan and schedule your activities.
Deal with interruptions and distractions - stay focused.
Manage time under pressure.
Develop a proactive approach to short, medium and long-term plans.

Managing yourself
Your time management behaviour - preferred working styles. 
Recognising personal “time takers”.
Get more things done through being assertive.

Effective delegation
The rules of effective delegation - overcoming personal preferences and prejudices.
Use delegation as a means of coordinating the workload of your team/department.

Duration: 1 day  (can be broken down to 2 x ½ day delivery)
Suggested maximum number of participants: 10

Who should attend?
Any person who feels that they need help with managing their time effectively. The course has been designed with the manager in view, but can be adapted to suit any level.
